12 oz (340 g) fettuccine or linguine pasta
1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
3 tablespoons (45 g) butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon (2 g) red pepper flakes (optional)
1 cup (240 ml) tomato sauce
1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon (2 g) smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon (2 g) salt
1/4 teaspoon (1 g) black pepper
1/4 cup (30 g) grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons (8 g) chopped fresh basil
Optional garnish: extra Parmesan and parsley
Cook pasta until al dente; set aside.
Sauté seasoned shrimp until pink; remove from skillet.
Melt butter, sauté garlic and red pepper flakes.
Add tomato sauce; simmer 2–3 minutes.
Stir in cream and simmer until slightly thickened.
Return shrimp and coat with sauce.
Toss pasta with shrimp and sauce; sprinkle Parmesan and basil. Serve immediately.
